I'm working on a piece for a local art exhibition this winter called "New Harmonies". It's being held in connection with a traveling Smithsonian exhibit, which is pretty cool. Entries should be the artists' interpretations of the theme of love, passion, reverence, hope, or grief. I've chosen passion as mine, and have an interesting concept in mind for it. At least, I think it's interesting.

I haven't started working on it yet, and the concept is completely mental now but after I finish this poppy still-life I've been working on for, oh...2 years...I will get to work on the passion piece. The entry isn't due until mid October so I have time.
Cosplay has taken a back seat until I can get some painting done but I've still purchased some pieces for upcoming costumes. A pair of hazel circle lenses I ordered from honeycolor.com came in last week and look nice. They'll work well for a Mashiro Kuna costume I have planned, but I'm not sure if I can get them to work for the Isane Kotetsu costume. I suppose I'll just have to take some test photos to better judge. I do have the Isane wig and earring beads in though, and I'm working on some pseudo-waraji sandals as well. My "personal modeling coach" (~
PeachImagery) has given me some homework to do so I'm also going to work on that.
